Lehramt Mintoring Programme for STEM teachers in Baden-Württemberg

Scholarships for aspiring STEM teachers

The Lehramt Mintoring scholarship programme supports students from Baden-Württemberg who would like to study STEM education after graduation. The scholarship covers up to four years during secondary school and the first year of university. STEM is an acronym that stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The Lehramt Mintoring programme is offered by the Foundation of German Business (sdw) in cooperation with the Vector Foundation and the Dieter Schwarz Foundation.

The individual, strength-oriented support offers students the possibility to discover the STEM education studies for themselves. During the programme, the students get their first teaching experience and build up their digital and teaching skills. The students also receive support during their transition from school to university. The programme comprises seminars, workshops, as well as digital courses aimed at personal development and knowledge acquisition. Student STEM teachers act as mentors to scholarship recipients throughout the entire funding period. This experience is directly applicable to their own studies, and they expand their teaching, method, and digital skills together with the scholarship recipients.

The Vector Foundation together with the Dieter Schwarz Foundation became involved in 2021. As a result, this programme is now available throughout the state of Baden-Württemberg.
