Foundation of German Business
Partner for support opportunities along the entire education chain
Under the theme “We support opportunities”, the Foundation of German Business (sdw) is providing support to about 4,000 children, youth, and young adults throughout Germany. Parents, teachers, and school administrators are also receiving support. Together with partners from employers’ associations, companies, foundations and ministries, support is offered along the entire education chain. The Dieter Schwarz Foundation is working together with sdw on three projects:
- STEM Teachers of Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the Vector Foundation (Lehramt Mintoring)
- Teacher Foundations (Studienkolleg)
- Leadership Workspace
Focus on Personal Development and Transition Management
All sdw’s support programmes are focused on offering opportunities for successful education transitions and personal development. By providing professional transition management, the foundation accompanies young people on their personal path to a successful future, thus advocating for more equal opportunities. Support focused on strengths and values helps participants to shape their lives effectively and to take on responsibility for society.
Support for Secondary School, Undergraduate, and Graduate Students
The Foundation of German Business accompanies about 2,000 students over a period of several years, providing support in their transition from school to work or university studies. The focus here is on individual study and career guidance as well as on fostering a new generation of STEM professionals. More than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students receive financial support and actively participate in organizing an interdisciplinary programme of events on topics related to business and society. Companies offer practical workshops and training on key competences that are useful for launching and continuing a professional career. There are also special support opportunities for student teachers, childhood educators, budding entrepreneurs, and young professionals. In addition, the energy transition is a special topic of focus.
